Skin Care 101 with Jonina
If you are new to skincare, I understand how overwhelming it can be. The beauty industry is a multibillion dollar industry with a never ending supply of skincare lines. A novice would not know where to begin. The best advice I give my clients is to initially keep it simple. At bare minimum, I recommend at least 3 products.
Cleanser (AM/PM)
Moisturizer (AM/PM)
SPF (AM and every 2 hours if outdoors) Anytime you start a new skincare line, give your skin 6-8 weeks to get acclimated. Be patient. It takes time. It is important to get into a habit and ensure you will actually do the work it takes to get the desired results. Similar to strength training, you have to be consistent and build as you go. Once you establish a good routine with the bare minimum products, next look into more corrective products to address your skincare concerns like hyperpigmentation (brown spots), acne, rosacea, skin elasticity, dryness, etc.
Exfoliant (1-2x/week)
Toners / Essence
Serums / Concentrates
Masks
Specialty products
A quality, gender neutral product for all skin types that I recommend is the Eminence’s Stone Crop Collection. It is my go to product when I am in doubt. For those with even the most sensitive skin, Stone Crop Gel Wash washes away impurities without drying out the skin. Botanical extracts help even skin tone and minimize the appearance of blemishes to leave a healthy complexion. Cruelty-free and formulated without parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, animal by-products, phthalates, GMOs and triclosan.
